The Irma Community Recovery Fund supports Hurricane Irma relief efforts in Miami-Dade County, the Florida Keys, and Southwest Florida. This fund, administered by and housed at The Miami Foundation, works to ensure that response to and recovery from the hurricane is equitable. Fund volunteers canvas to check on residents and to respond to their needs. They organize hot meals and galvanize community interest in recovery. As disenfranchised populations, including rural farmworkers and mobile home residents, may lack access to television, Fund keeps residents informed via radio. Other areas of provided support include legal assistance and advocacy for recovery dollars.
