Slingshot encourages Jewish funders to support innovation. Its annual national guide to Jewish innovation reaches more than 7,500 philanthropists and thought leaders with an additional 25,000 people viewing the guide online. Its annual convening brings together funders, civic leaders, and staff from the 50 organizations listed in the national guide so they can consider new ideas and trends in Jewish life. In 2016, its guide included the first Slingshot San Francisco supplement that highlighted innovative Bay Area projects. Building on that supplement, this grant helped to enable Slingshot to hold its first West Coast gathering in October 2017.
