Jewish Vocational Services (JVS) is the largest workforce development organization in the Bay Area, serving about 3,000 people annually in several programs. Its recent five-year strategic plan proposes to expand its Career Pathways programs, through which it identifies growth industries in need of qualified employers, develops employer partnerships, and customizes the curricula used to train vulnerable job-seekers. The ultimate goal of Career Pathways is to place participants in living-wage jobs that offer real potential for advancement. JVS also provides workshops, courses, and career counseling.
