Description | Oakland East Bay Symphony’s MUSE Initiative sends professional musicians into 19 Oakland public schools where they teach technique and music theory to small groups of students. MUSE’s after-school programs offer introductory piano lessons, operate two children’s orchestras, and host after-school practice labs in West Oakland. Additionally, the Bridge Program provides private and small-group lessons to 12 to 15 low-income students, preparing them for auditions with the Oakland Youth Orchestra or other Bay Area youth orchestras and jazz ensembles. |
