Hazon
Program Area(s) | |
Description | Hazon (‘vision’ in Hebrew) provides Jews with meaningful opportunities to both engage in outdoor programs and to explore food justice issues — such as how food availability affects the environment and one’s health. The organization is recognized for providing quality immersive experiences that include multiday bike rides, food conferences, and retreats. A portion of this grant supports a Jewish Community Food Security Initiative, which will explore ways to engage Jewish agencies in providing 74 million ‘missing meals’ — the number of meals unaccounted for each year after purchasing power, government assistance, and nonprofit support has been exhausted. |
