Musical Traditions has been leasing a well-equipped studio, rehearsal, and storage space in a massive warehouse in West Oakland for 28 years. Facing displacement, the group seeks to shift to a different space in the same building. This grant aids Musical Traditions in replacing its rehearsal and storage space and with adding acoustical improvements, secure storage, a sprung floor for dance, and other amenities so it can re-open by early 2018. Multiple performing arts groups use this studio for rehearsals and storage.
