Mills College’s Teacher Scholars program partners with urban schools to develop and facilitate teacher inquiry groups. Teachers in these groups discuss and analyze classroom data to diagnose student learning needs and share feedback about classroom approaches and practices. Research has shown that this type of sustained, collaborative learning builds teachers’ instructional capacity and increases their leadership skills. This general operating grant from the Fund assists the program in continuing its work within Alameda County schools and completing its strategic plan.
