Community Arts Stabilization Trust (CAST) works to provide permanent, affordable space to Bay Area artists and arts organizations. It purchases and renovates buildings for organizations who gradually buy the buildings’ assets via lease payments. CAST also acquires buildings that it then upgrades, manages, and rents at below-market rates to other nonprofits. By the end of 2018, it aims to acquire 100,000 square feet of arts space for long-term or permanent use by artists and arts organizations. This grant provides CAST with general operating support.
