Eviction Defense Collaborative helps prevent homelessness, preserves affordable housing, and protects the diversity of San Francisco by providing emergency rental assistance and advocacy for low-income tenants. Ironically, in 2015, it was forced out of its office space at 6th and Market streets when its landlord terminated its lease. Eviction Defense Collaborative has relocated but its rent has doubled. This grant supports the cost of the organization’s move and defrays the costs of its increased rent.
