Raphael House of San Francisco

Program Area(s)
Description

San Francisco’s first shelter for homeless families, Raphael House is known both for the care it provides and for the breadth of resources it makes available to families after they move on to permanent housing. The shelter’s 2015 capital campaign responds to the growing demand for shelter beds by increasing its capacity by a third, adding eight residential rooms plus a children’s playroom, a family gathering room, and a kitchenette. This expansion is part of a three-year plan to provide services to 200 more families who are struggling to survive the growing economic disparity of the Bay Area.
