World Savvy partners with Oakland Unified School District’s Social Science Department to implement more project-based learning in social studies classes at high-need schools. It will train teachers to use its project-based curriculum and student-centered pedagogy, provide teacher coaching, and — in collaboration with the Social Science Department — facilitate groups in which teachers can discuss and solve implementation issues together. This work will assist teachers in integrating project-based learning and in fostering language-rich classrooms.
