Women’s Initiative for Self Employment recently celebrated its 25th year of providing low-income women with business training, access to capital, and ongoing support to start or grow small businesses. In 2012, Women’s Initiative served 1,500 entrepreneurs through its San Francisco and Oakland programs. Women’s Initiative offers an entrepreneurial readiness workshop, a business management training course, and a program that matches participants with volunteer mentors and business advisers.
