| Description | Women currently represent only 5% of professional recording engineers in the United States. Women’s Audio Mission (WAM) sets out to counteract this by encouraging more females to master the skills needed to succeed in this well-paid creative field. One WAM program, Girls on the Mic, offers middle and high school students intensive training in producing music and media, building synthesizers and speakers, coding, and understanding technology careers. It nurtures girls’ hard tech skills as well as their creative skills as musicians, songwriters, storytellers, and designers. |
