Description

In 2016, the University of California Berkeley Art Museum and Pacific Film Archive (BAM/PFA) moved to a new downtown Berkeley location. During its final months in its former building, it presented a community engagement project that proved so successful the museum will continue and expand upon it. Through this project, BAM/PFA will offer the public direct access to local artists plus other programs to engage the diversity of the Bay Area’s artistic community. In doing this, it seeks to become a dynamic cultural town square, where visitors from diverse backgrounds can view exhibits, films, and performances, and participate in workshops with Bay Area artists.
