| Description | In response to rising levels of stress among teachers who serve newcomer students, Oakland Unified School District (OUSD) is awarding mini-grants to implement teacher wellness activities. The University of California, Berkeley’s Graduate School of Education and its Center for Cities and Schools are partnering with OUSD to document these efforts and assess their impact on teacher retention and classroom practice. Additionally, a landscape analysis of teacher wellness policies and best practices will be conducted so as to provide the district with recommendations for policies to support teacher resilience. |
