Treasure Island Homeless Development Initiative (TIHDI) has been at the forefront of developing and implementing the federally mandated homeless plan for Treasure Island. After two decades, construction of the newest neighborhood on Treasure Island began in 2016. This development will include 435 housing units for the formerly homeless and thousands of construction-related jobs — 25% of which will go to low-income San Franciscans. A TIHDI program maximizes job placements and retention while ensuring that participants receive the support they need to build long-term financial security.
