Many homeless individuals either sleep on the streets, where getting rest is challenging, or stay at shelters that they must vacate during the day. The Gubbio Project provides an alternative. Created as a non-denominational, faith-based nonprofit, this project helps churches to open their pews to homeless people during the day. It provides services to approximately 15% of San Francisco’s chronically homeless population, supplying them with breakfast, a place to rest or sleep, access to bathrooms, massage, foot care, and Medi-cal signup. W&EHF provides The Gubbio Project with general operating support.
