| Description | Cypress String Quartet decided to disband after 20 years of performing, recording, and touring. As a farewell gift to San Francisco it performed all of Beethoven’s 16 string quartets for free in accessible locations across every supervisorial district. The free performances, supported in part by the Fund, promise to serve a broad cross-section of the city. In addition to this free concert series, the Quartet is making a final recording and has commissioned a final new work. These closing projects illustrate a successful way to manage nonprofit closure. |
