| Description | Many teaching artists are self-employed or independent contractors who work without pay standards, benefits, or clear opportunities for career advancement. The Teaching Artists Guild has emerged as a California-based membership organization designed to address their needs. It is working in partnership with other organizations to create a data map of where teaching artists work, in California only as a first step. The map will help to identify strengths and gaps in arts education programs; identify potential partners for arts agencies; and connect teaching artists with hiring agencies. |
