Tax Aid provides free tax-filing services to low-income households, helping families to preserve their assets. In 2013, it recruited and trained almost a thousand volunteers who prepared over four thousand tax returns at 29 tax-preparation sites. Tax Aid also recently piloted a small financial coaching program for tax filers. This grant supports the ongoing supervision, assessment, and revision of that pilot program, and helps to defray the direct costs incurred at four tax-preparation sites.
