Small Press Distribution

Program Area(s)
Description

Small press publishers often are the first to produce books by writers of color and to publish both writing in translation and experimental writing. In spite of editorial excellence, these small entities are challenged to market, distribute, and warehouse their books. Small Press Distribution represents 432 small presses, helping them to distribute their books and thereby build a community of readers. This grant supports Small Press Distribution’s creative public programming, which connects writers, readers, and books in Berkeley, Oakland, and San Francisco.
