Small Press Distribution

Program Area(s)
Description

Small, nonprofit publishers often discover emerging talent and champion works by translators, writers of color, and LGBTQ writers. Key to distributing and warehousing the work of these diverse publishers, Berkeley’s Small Press Distribution, experiments with reaching new audiences through book discussion groups for low-income seniors; poetry events for teens; and pop-up displays in a variety of stores. This grant helps support the 75 Bay Area publishers whose books Small Press Distribution brings to readers.
