Shalom Bayit is the only Northern California agency that provides domestic-violence services to the Jewish community. It provides a culturally sensitive safety net for Jewish women in crisis through a 24-hour emergency phone line, financial assistance, connections to shelter, and counseling. Shalom Bayit also works to prevent domestic violence through education for teens, healthy-relationship workshops, and training in recognizing and responding to abuse. This grant will enable Shalom Bayit to launch its first Russian-speaking program and to expand its services.
