| Description | ShadowLight Productions combines the ancient art of Balinese shadow puppetry with lighting techniques from cinema. Since children are easily attracted to shadow play and lighting illusions, ShadowLight began informally offering classroom sessions on creating and staging stories with simple props and equipment. Demand from schools grew steadily, so ShadowLight developed a curriculum for creating shadow plays with children and began training affiliated artists to teach it. In 2015-16, ShadowLight will complete a capacity-building push, training and coaching five shadow puppetry artists to effectively teach this engaging cultural art form in public schools. |
