| Description | The San Francisco Symphony’s Instrument Training and Support program works in partnership with instrumental music programs at 23 San Francisco Unified School District middle and high schools. Through the program, Symphony staff meet with district music teachers to assess their needs and symphony musicians contribute coaching to small groups and individual students. The Symphony also pays for instrument repairs, purchases new instruments for classrooms, and donates concert tickets for teachers, students, and their families. In 2015-16, 1,325 students received direct weekly coaching through Instrument Training and Support. |
