| Description | Composer and musician Edward Simon is collaborating with SF JAZZ to create “Mi Pueblo Venezolano: The Migrant Suite” (working title) is a multi-disciplinary work for jazz big band, Afro-Venezuelan percussion, dance, and storytelling through video projections of migrants, refugees and immigrants along a trek spanning 3,000 miles across eight countries. Inspired by the experience of Venezuelan refugees, the new compositions and interactive video will portray real stories and explore identity culminating in a live performance. |
