San Francisco Community Agencies Responding to Disaster

Program Area(s)
Description

As the 2015 wildfires in Northern California again demonstrated, communities unite in times of crisis — with those in need often turning to trusted agencies and faith leaders. San Francisco Community Agencies Responding to Disaster (SF CARD) provides 110 congregations and nonprofit organizations with the training and support they need to respond effectively when crisis strikes. Its staff also sit on the Mayor’s Disaster Council and the City’s Emergency Operations Center, ensuring that the community’s voice is heard in government planning.
