Description

This annual grant honors the legacy of giving from the Fund’s founders Walter & Elise Haas, providing general operating support to the San Francisco Child Abuse Prevention Center to prevent child abuse and reduce its devastating impact. They provide children and family services, community education and leadership of the San Francisco Child Abuse Council, which coordinates the efforts of multiple organizations, committees and task forces that provide child abuse services across San Francisco. Their SafeStart program provides a coordinated system of care for families with children under age six who have been exposed to violence. They lead a citywide effort to develop a first-of-its-kind, comprehensive, state-of-the-art Children’s Advocacy Center of San Francisco to transform abuse prevention, intervention, and urban health care programs for children.
