San Francisco Chamber Orchestra

Program Area(s)
Description

Working to attract underserved audiences, in 2005 the San Francisco Chamber Orchestra adopted a free admission policy. Later it began experimenting with formats meant to appeal to first-time classical music concertgoers. New programs include a series of short, accessible family concerts along with concerts designed to appeal to young children — both presented in San Francisco and Oakland public libraries and community centers. The Fund supports the Orchestra’s successful work to benefit audiences of all ages and socioeconomic backgrounds.
