| Description | In 2014, rent increases forced visual arts non-profit Root Division to move from its long-term home in the Mission District. During its search for a new, long-term base of operations, Root Division operated out of a temporary storefront on Market Street. This grant from the Fund helps to cover Root Division’s moving costs, transition costs as its core staff manages an increased workload, enhanced marketing and communications, and the training and placement of volunteer artist teachers in after-school art programs. Once resettled, Root Division can sustainably continue to connect creativity and community through a dynamic ecosystem of arts education, exhibitions, and studios. |
