Restaurant Opportunities Center United (ROC United) mobilizes restaurant workers, employers, and consumers to seek better wages and working conditions for the country’s largest, lowest-paid workforce. It has grown into a national organization with 18,000 low-wage restaurant worker members, 200 employer partners, and several thousand consumer members across more than 30 American cities. In the Bay Area and elsewhere, ROC United promotes a “high road to profitability” through partnerships with responsible restauranteurs; provides a workforce development program that moves workers into living-wage jobs within the industry; and helps workers pursue higher education.
