Reach Institute for School Leadership operates teacher and principal credential programs and partners with school districts to improve instruction. Oakland Unified School District approached the Institute for help in developing two teacher initiatives: one to build a pipeline for teachers of newcomer students and one to support after-school and summer youth workers in becoming classroom teachers. This grant helps Reach to adapt its teacher credentialing program to meet the needs of both initiatives and bring more teachers to Oakland.
