A successful theater ensemble is built on teamwork and trust among its members — particularly valuable skills for teenagers to master. Ragged Wing Ensemble brings the theater’s collaborative benefit to its work with youth, encouraging participants to try new roles and to work together as they develop original plays and design, direct, and perform them. Identifying transportation as a barrier to participation, Ragged Wing is now offering its program at several Oakland public school sites after school rather than at its downtown Oakland theater.
