Queer Women of Color Media Arts Project

Program Area(s)
Description

Queer Women of Color Media Arts Program uses film to mitigate stereotypes and a lack of depiction by supporting, screening, and distributing films by queer women of color. Each year, it invites up to 10 participants to an intensive filmmaking course that ends with a free film festival. It chooses filmmakers suited to address a selected theme or who represent a defined population group. In 2017, invitees were LBTQ Native American, Indigenous, or Pacific Islander.
