Public Advocates has long advocated for stronger teacher-preparation standards and the equitable distribution of effective teachers in California. This grant supports Public Advocates’ work, which includes providing technical assistance to an Oakland coalition striving to retain and support more teachers and collaboration with the California Commission on Teacher Credentialing to improve teacher preparation and the collection and analysis of placement data.
