| Description | The San Francisco Board of Education’s semi-autonomous advisory group, the Parent Advisory Council (PAC), helps ensure that policy development and discussions are informed by and address the needs of diverse families. It, along with other parent-organizing bodies, has helped the San Francisco Unified School District meet the community-engagement requirements of the new state-required education planning and budgeting process. PAC has developed expertise in engaging underserved families and effectively captures their perspectives on important policy initiatives. |
