Opportunity Fund is one of the only lenders that provides affordable and appropriate microcredit to California’s low-income small businesses at any scale. It supported over 2,200 entrepreneurs with $62 million in loans in 2015. Opportunity Fund plays a critical role in supporting entrepreneurs who lack affordable financing options. In addition to providing access to capital, it offers borrowers individualized business advice and helps low-income people build savings for emergencies and education. Opportunity Fund also played an active role in launching the Small Business Borrower’s Bill of Rights, an advocacy effort to create greater transparency and fairness in small business financing.
