| Description | At Oaktown Jazz Workshops, 60 students take weekly lessons in mastering instruments, jazz improvisation, and music theory. Tuition is charged, but half of its students receive full scholarships. Oaktown Jazz players perform at community events and school assemblies. The Fund’s grant in 2017-18 supports Oakland Jazz Workshops’ capacity-building efforts. |
