| Description | Across the country, cities faced with under-resourced school systems and deep community needs have created public education funds—organizations focused on fundraising and leveraging government, philanthropic, individual, and business resources to strengthen and improve public education. Oakland Unified School District recently selected the Oakland Schools Foundation to become the new education fund for Oakland. It is in the process of transforming the Foundation into the Oakland Public Education Fund. |
