The Oakland Public Education Fund is Oakland Unified School District’s (OUSD’s) main development partner in its efforts to attract resources and support for Oakland’s public schools and the district’s strategic plan. In 2016, the Education Fund managed several major philanthropic and corporate investments in OUSD, including a collaborative of 43 stakeholders working on kindergarten readiness, the development of a computer science pathway, and the facilitation of a million dollars in corporate and foundation grants. This grant provides general operating support to the Oakland Public Education Fund so it can continue to maintain the resources, partnerships, and talent that bolster OUSD.
