| Description | The Oakland Museum of California is the only museum devoted exclusively to the art, history, and natural environment of California. Year-round, the Museum hosts free Friday evening events, called Friday Nights @ OMCA. These community engagement programs combine live music, dancing, food, and hands-on family art activities. During Friday Nights @ OMCA, visitors can also view galleries, lectures, and demonstrations inside the Museum for half-price admission. By lowering participation barriers, OMCA draws 2,000 people each week, with attendance steadily growing. |
