Oakland Kids First is helping to lead a local coalition advocating for increased investment in Oakland public schools and working to improve the learning and working conditions in schools serving the highest-need, most vulnerable students. Its in-development fellowship program will support teachers from high-need classrooms and train them on advocacy and organizing. With the support of the Fund, Oakland Kids First will design and pilot this program to build teacher leadership and amplify teachers’ voices in decision-making.
