Oakland Digital Art and Literacy Center engages graphic arts professionals working in the technology sector to serve as teachers and mentors, thereby helping to bridge the digital media divide. The Center offers two training programs: the first supplements the digital media courses offered at community colleges and the second assists a dozen women over the age of 40 who need digital media training in their roles as small business owners. Doing so, Oakland Digital Art and Literacy Center helps increase business viability for local entrepreneurs in an increasingly digital market place.
