Ninth Street Media Consortium
Program Area(s) | |
Description | The Ninth Street Media Consortium is an innovative arts facility owned jointly by the Center for Asian American Media, Frameline, Inc., and the Jewish Film Festival. It houses a dozen media arts organizations and manages TILT, an excellent youth media program. TILT provides intensive digital media arts workshops to teens at four youth centers serving low-income youth. It also works with nonprofits, teaching classes to their youth participants. Film festivals housed at Ninth Street collaborate with TILT to produce workshops and screenings of youth-created films as well. In 2013, TILT is implementing a new mobile media program to teach young people to create and share short works on handheld devices. TILT will reach an estimated 650 youth in 2013-14. |
