| Description | New Leaders’ hallmark program trains principals to improve struggling schools by becoming more effective instructional leaders. In order to cultivate its local principal pipeline, New Leaders created Emerging Leaders, which trains and coaches high-potential teachers and assistant principals in the Oakland Unified School District (OUSD). Through Emerging Leaders, New Leaders nearly doubled the size of the OUSD residency program for 2013-14. In 2014, New Leaders will also incorporate the Common Core Standards into all of its leadership training programs so as to better align with OUSD goals. |
