The New Israel Fund (NIF) is the leading American organization committed to equality and democracy for all Israelis. Its grantmaking supports hundreds of Israeli nonprofits that protect human rights, promote religious pluralism, and narrow economic divides. NIF has pioneered programs that forge a more nuanced narrative about Israel with a focus on engaging young adults. These programs have included dialogue series, in-depth salons, and cultural events that explore the importance of democracy and civil rights in Israel. NIF’s work creating opportunities for honest conversation about complicated perceptions of Israel will be particularly important in 2017 as this year marks the 50th anniversary of the Occupation.
