| Description | Los Cenzontles Mexican Arts Center offers innovative arts programming aimed at first- and second-generation Latino families with children. Each year, its arts academy provides classes in Mexican traditional music, dance, and arts and crafts to more than 600 students aged 4 and up. Los Cenzontles’ consulting work emphasizes identifying and drawing upon the skills and knowledge of its community, so that cultural resources remain rooted in those communities. This grant from the Fund supports Los Cenzontles in bringing its cultural consultation services to six or more organizations in San Francisco or Alameda County. It will work in depth with one organization for over a year and provide a shorter program to additional agencies. |
