| Description | Loco Bloco Drum and Dance Ensemble promotes San Francisco youths’ healthy transition to adulthood by engaging its participants in the study and performance of music, dance, and theater that is rooted in Afro-Latino traditions. Loco Bloco workshops, held at neighborhood cultural and recreation centers in the Mission and Excelsior districts, encourage cross-cultural understanding and the mastery of performance. Its youth apprentice program for high school and college-aged participants focuses on leadership skills. Its Intergenerational Performance Ensemble unites youth, young adults, instructors, and professional guest artists to create original music and choreography. |
