La Cocina supports low-income, immigrant women working to start their own food-based businesses. It offers comprehensive training, technical assistance, and deeply subsidized access to a state-of-the-art commercial kitchen. In 2014, 38 entrepreneurs took part in La Cocina’s business incubator—an average of three to five participants graduate from the program each year. In its ten years of operation, La Cocina has launched nine brick-and-mortar restaurants plus another ten food trucks, wholesale operations, and catering companies.
