Jewish Youth in Community Action
Program Area(s) | |
Description | For two decades, Jewish Youth for Community Action has galvanized young people and their adult allies to work for social change in the East Bay. It effectively reaches diverse Jewish teens including Jews of color, LGBT Jews, and those from multifaith families. High school students participate in leadership training, learn about racism, sexism, and income inequality, and then select issues of concern and volunteer time to local organizations. In 2014, students chose to work with groups assisting unaccompanied immigrant minors in the East Bay. |
